Ekin Sarı

Born in Ankara on 07.04.1983. She started painting at the age of 3. She graduated from Yeditepe University Fashion and Textile Design Department with honors. After graduation, she worked as a fashion designer in various companies in the ready-to-wear clothing industry in Istanbul and prepared womenswear fashion collections. 

 

To further her career, she completed her Fashion Design Master's degree at Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. During the 3 years she lived in Milan she continued her Art studies from a Fashion perspective in the projects she prepared.

 

In 2021, she transformed her business into a path where she could make her own designs and finally founded her own brand, Funkshion by Ekin Sarı, which she always wanted. By making Limited Edition products with her brand, her aim is to question quick production and consumption in very high quantities which also harms the nature and environment. 

 

Since 2022, she has been focusing on her beloved art of painting. She creates abstract figurative paintings with vibrant colors using mixed techniques. The artist, who also produces digital art, conveys a sense of movement in her works. Her Fashion and Artworks feed each other. The paintings and patterns she make are also kept alive on the clothes she designs.

 

She has had two Solo Exhibitions in Istanbul: Rising from the Fire (2024) and Resonance (2025). Her works are also featured in various exhibitions and fairs in Turkey and internationally through the galleries she works with.
