Sümeyra Özdemir

Sümeyra Özdemir was born in 1990.

After completing high school in Samsun, she studied Economics at Uludağ University. Currently living and working in Istanbul, art had been a part of Sümeyra’s life long before her academic career.

For her, painting is a free space where sound, rhythm, emotion, and movement come together. Through the language of colors, she tells stories while intuitively making visible the traces embedded in personal and collective memory.

Sümeyra enjoys making new discoveries by experimenting with different materials, primarily acrylic paint. She draws inspiration from nature, the sky, birds, houses, flowers, poetry, emotions, and life itself.

Working in an abstract and expressionist style, she freely expresses herself and meets art lovers in a world shaped by shared emotions.
